About the Role

The Human Resources Advisor acts as a strategic business partner to managers and employees, aligning advisory services with organizational goals. The role supports daily HR operations and longer‑term people strategies, emphasizing strong relationships, workforce advice, and consistent policy application across locations. In this position the advisor provides proactive guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness. Responsibilities include leading recruitment across assigned sites, advising on performance management, employee engagement, talent development, and partnering with managers to identify training needs and close skill gaps. The advisor also contributes to HR projects, system improvements, process enhancements, and the rollout of strategic people programs while ensuring HR policies and procedures align with corporate strategy and legal requirements. Additionally, the advisor serves as a backup for payroll vacation coverage.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a degree or diploma in Human Resources, with a CPHR designation preferred and PCP, GBA, or CEBS as assets. At least three years of generalist or advisory HR experience—preferably in a unionized setting—is required, along with demonstrated expertise in recruitment, employee relations, training, development, and HR program delivery. Experience with Oracle Fusion, BambooHR, or Dayforce is considered advantageous, and strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation is essential. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver practical HR solutions, are also required.
