About the Role
The Assembler is responsible for winding, assembling, and complex wiring to produce sub‑assemblies and final control equipment. They also verify electrical and mechanical performance of completed assemblies. The role involves frequent physical movement such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and climbing ladders throughout the plant. Work is performed using drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to assemble and wire control equipment. The assembler determines needed parts, prepares requisitions, and obtains materials from stock. Wire preparation includes cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals, followed by routing, fitting, and modifying components into complete assemblies. Completed assemblies are inspected for electrical and mechanical conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards, with adjustments and alignments made as required. The assembler executes engineering and customer change orders, makes repairs, and maintains required records. Safety and hygiene rules are observed, and the work area is kept neat and orderly. • Interpret drawings, engineering specs, and manufacturing info to assemble and wire control equipment • Identify required parts, prepare requisitions, and obtain materials from stock • Cut, strip, and attach terminals; route, assemble, fit, and modify components into complete assemblies • Perform electrical and mechanical performance checks and adjust to meet quality standards • Execute engineering and customer change orders and make necessary repairs • Operate battery‑powered and compressed‑air power tools safely • Maintain accurate records, adhere to safety and hygiene rules, and keep the work area orderly
