About the Role

The Material Handler/Forklift Driver is responsible for delivering all required materials to each department before they are needed. This role ensures that production lines receive raw materials on schedule and that supplies arrive in the correct quantities. Key responsibilities include operating forklift equipment safely, moving raw materials to assigned production lines, and placing materials in designated areas according to pick lists. The employee must verify all parts, check off delivered items before shift end, communicate with supervisors, multitask according to daily schedules, and keep the inventory management system updated in real time. Periodic audits are performed to verify inventory accuracy, and any material damage or discrepancies are reported to the Inventory Analyst team. Johnson Controls enhances building intelligence through a full range of systems and digital solutions that make structures safer, more comfortable, efficient, and sustainable, supporting diverse environments such as offices, schools, hospitals, and data centers. • Operate forklift safely following company safety standards. • Transport raw materials to assigned production lines and ensure correct quantities. • Place materials in designated locations according to pick lists. • Verify and check off all delivered parts before shift end. • Communicate clearly with supervisors and coordinate daily tasks. • Multitask and prioritize work in line with the daily schedule. • Update inventory management system in real time to reflect stock status. • Perform periodic inventory audits and resolve discrepancies with analysts. • Monitor and report any material damage or discrepancies. • Use MRP/ERP (SAP, Oracle, Sage) and WMS to track inventory and generate reports. • Enter, track, and reconcile inventory data accurately. • Troubleshoot system issues and analyze data within ERP environments. • Maintain compliance with safety policies and wear required PPE. • Follow 5S lean practices to keep work areas organized.

What You Bring

The position requires strict adherence to safety policies and the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, boots, ear protection, and cut‑level 5 gloves. Workers must handle moving parts, work in noisy and tight spaces, and maintain good manual dexterity while following 5S lean practices. Candidates need Microsoft Office proficiency, forklift experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent; safety certifications and a valid US driver’s license are preferred. The role also demands strong computer literacy with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage), analytical problem‑solving, knowledge of inventory and production processes, and experience with sheet metal, hardware, electronics, and shop tools. Physical fitness for frequent lifting, walking, and standing, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing schedules, is essential. • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy. • Hold forklift certification and valid US driver’s license. • Apply knowledge of inventory receiving, processing, storage, and production line supply. • Possess experience with sheet metal, hardware, electronics, and shop tools (preferred). • Exhibit strong analytical problem‑solving and communication skills. • Meet physical fitness standards for frequent lifting, walking, and standing. • Work effectively in a team and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
