About the Role

As part of a collaborative Agile team you will design and develop high‑quality Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern architectural patterns. You will work closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to deliver clean, maintainable, and performant code that shapes the future of Apartments.com’s mobile ecosystem and drives customer engagement. • Develop Android applications that scale to millions of users. • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve CoStar’s platform and development practices. • Create UI layouts and integrate them with backend web services. • Design reusable, maintainable systems and libraries. • Contribute ideas to CoStar’s product architecture and frameworks. • Collaborate with other Android developers and cross‑functional teams to share ideas and improvements.

What You Bring

We are seeking an accomplished Android Engineer to join our growing mobile development team in Irvine, CA. In this role you will build brand‑new features and enhance the Apartments.com mobile experience used by millions of renters nationwide, working at the intersection of innovation and scale with the latest Android technologies to create fast, intuitive, and beautiful experiences. This position offers the freedom to influence technology decisions, experiment with emerging tools, and deliver features that truly matter to users, within a forward‑thinking engineering organization that encourages innovation. The role is based in Irvine and follows an in‑office schedule Monday through Thursday with remote work on Friday. • Minimum 4 years of Android development experience. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, in‑person university. • Proven commitment to prior employers. • Expert knowledge of Android (Java, Kotlin, SDK, Studio, Layout Editor) and a continuous learning mindset. • Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, MVI, MVVM, and Dependency Injection. • Passion for mobile applications and creating engaging user experiences. • Ability to turn ideas and code into excellent customer experiences.
