About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Leader to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive safety program for Intersect Power, ensuring best‑in‑class EHS performance for personnel, contractors, and stakeholders. The role leads a best‑in‑class EHS program across renewable‑energy construction and operations, embedding a strong safety culture aligned with Intersect’s long‑run values. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the leader will partner with development, engineering, construction, procurement, legal, and operations teams and must excel at multitasking in a deadline‑driven environment. • Support the organization in coordinating and integrating EHS practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. • Lead EHS strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation and managing current and future HSE programs. • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes related to EHS topics. • Provide leadership in defining EHS targets, KPIs, policies, and procedures and ensure their implementation. • Develop, track, and control the EHS annual operating and capital budgets, including business case justifications and cost‑benefit analyses. • Design and apply assessment tools to measure program and training effectiveness, maintaining an updated curriculum database and training records. • Coordinate aggregation and reporting of periodic EHS reports, including EPC and vendor submissions. • Set and collaborate on loss prevention goals. • Conduct site visits to all construction sites to ensure best‑in‑class execution. • Hold quarterly meetings with counterparts at EPC and vendor partners. • Perform pre‑qualification of contractors to assess their EHS programs, performance, and culture before award. • Provide visibility on EHS progress, performance, successes, and challenges to operational leadership teams. • Maintain, execute, and monitor effectiveness of actions identified in the compliance matrix for operational sites. • Develop, communicate, and post 300 HSE metrics for internal and external stakeholder reporting. • Obtain and maintain EHS records and required documentation as mandated by law and interested parties.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or Business. • Possess 15+ years of experience in energy construction across oil, gas, solar, wind, or chemical plants. • Have 10+ years of experience managing or directing an HSE operation with a focus on strategic planning and execution. • Hold or be willing to obtain professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, PMP, CHST, or SMS within 12 months. • Experience at large construction sites or major industrial facilities, such as chemical plants. • Ability to lead root‑cause analysis safety reviews and identify corrective actions, especially after significant safety incidents. • Complete IS‑100, IS‑200, IS‑700, and IS‑800 National Incident Management System training upon hire. • Demonstrated experience with management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001. • In‑depth knowledge of applicable safety and environmental laws, regulations, and practices. • Strong understanding of Human Resource management principles, practices, and procedures.

Intersect offers a total compensation range of $221,000‑$260,000, including base salary and bonus, along with 100 % premium coverage for medical, dental, and vision for employees and dependents.
