Relief Driver - CDL (B)

About the Role

A Relief Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The driver ensures the vehicle complies with company safety standards, adheres to state and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Key duties include performing thorough pre- and post‑operation inspections, navigating assigned routes, loading and compacting refuse, and delivering waste to disposal sites. The driver also monitors waste for prohibited items, cleans spills, maintains vehicle condition, completes required productivity and safety reports, and participates in the company’s ReSOP safety program. • Inspect vehicle pre‑ and post‑operation (tires, fluids, safety equipment) and report issues. • Drive assigned route, load refuse, operate compactor, and deliver to disposal site. • Use manual/automatic controls to lift, load, and compact waste. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and team members. • Tag and report unsatisfactory waste containers per procedure. • Monitor waste for prohibited items and handle spills safely. • Clean vehicle and packer blade after each disposal trip. • Complete route, productivity sheets, VCRs, and other required reports. • Meet productivity standards to service customers efficiently. • Follow all safety policies and participate in the ReSOP program. • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and honesty. • Follow company policies, avoid unsafe risks, and uphold safety standards. • Provide health‑care and dependent‑care spending accounts. • Provide 401(k) with company match and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates demonstrate strong customer service, time‑management, and follow‑through abilities, consistently follow company policies, and take pride in their work. Two years of commercial truck driving experience is preferred, and a Class B (or higher) CDL with an air‑brake endorsement is required. • Manage time effectively and adhere to work schedules. • Hold a Class B (or higher) CDL with air‑brake endorsement.
