About the Role
The Field Specialist – Power Transmission provides on‑site mechanical and technical direction and operating support for power transmission equipment within customer facilities. This role covers commissioning, start‑up, operations, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, all in line with engineering best practices and contractual work‑scope requirements. In this position you will travel to customer sites worldwide, collaborate with customer personnel, and deliver technical assistance, training and guidance to ensure equipment operates reliably and warranty coverage is maintained. • Provide on‑site mechanical and technical direction for power transmission equipment during commissioning, start‑up, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. • Assist customers with operation, maintenance, repair, logistics and installation of power transmission gear. • Deliver project and field service updates, reporting job status and customer issues promptly. • Travel domestically and internationally to consult, advise, train and support customer personnel on equipment operation, repairs and warranty service. • Perform routine field repairs efficiently and economically. • Verify new equipment installations meet engineering requirements to maintain warranty coverage. • Offer on‑site guidance and training for proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting, including data interpretation. • Help customers schedule maintenance and manage workload. • Anticipate future program requirements and implement actions to meet them. • Keep current with Lufkin and other manufacturers’ technology developments to ensure high‑quality service.

What You Bring
To succeed, you need an associate’s degree or equivalent experience (minimum two years in field service), proven mechanical abilities, the capacity to read and interpret detailed drawings and specifications, and strong oral and written communication skills. • Associate degree (or high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years field service experience). • Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to read/interpret detailed drawings, specifications and manuals. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Ability to solve practical gear repair problems.
