About the Role

Under the direction of the Design Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be tasked with the design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of electrical switching and control equipment. • Participate in cross‑functional and multidisciplinary teams to design and develop new contactors and other electromechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards. • Create and maintain 3D solid models, design layouts, and production drawings using CAD tools. • Build prototypes of new designs to test functionality and performance, adjusting based on test results. • Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and engineering reports. • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure efficient, cost‑effective component production.

What You Bring

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Hubbell is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. • Travel up to 10 % of the time as required. • Possess at least five years of experience designing and maintaining electromechanical equipment such as contactors, switchgear, or high‑powered control gear. • Demonstrate strong understanding of electro‑mechanical systems and their integration. • Be proficient with 2D/3D CAD design tools; experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is desired. • Exhibit strong organizational skills in project planning, design, and quality control. • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate with team members, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
