About the Role
The Fiber Splicer is responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks and ensuring they operate correctly. This includes testing and troubleshooting network continuity, operating and maintaining testing equipment, preparing splice enclosures, and using fusion splicers and OTDRs. The role also requires applying fiber engineering knowledge to interpret designs, light levels, and loss calculations while working on outdoor utility construction sites. • Test and troubleshoot fiber optic network continuity using OTDR, OLTS, and power meters. • Operate testing equipment and resolve common fiber optic challenges. • Prepare fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.). • Perform splicing with fusion splicer and related tools. • Apply fiber engineering knowledge to read designs, interpret documentation, and assess light levels and dB loss. • Work on outdoor utility construction sites, including ladder and bucket‑truck tasks.

What You Bring

You should have 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience, be comfortable working on ladders or bucket trucks, and be flexible to handle varied shifts and overtime. Relevant MOS codes (V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, 5699) align well with this position. • Minimum 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience. • Ability to solve complex problems hands‑on and collaborate with a team. • Comfortable working at height on ladders or bucket trucks. • Relevant MOS codes (V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, 5699) are advantageous.
