About the Role

The Material Handler I is responsible for picking parts and filling carts according to pick lists, printing tickets using the MTS/DSI system, supporting the production line, completing accurate inventory transactions, and assisting in the warehouse as required. The role includes completing 5S assignments, entering turnbacks, identifying part shortages, performing cycle counts, and other tasks assigned by the supervisor, as well as participating in daily toolbox meetings and shop‑floor management elements such as Tier 1, QCPC, and Material Review Board. The position works the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday with occasional weekend coverage. Key responsibilities involve accurately filling kit carts, handling inventory transactions, closing pick lists promptly, restocking bins within 24 hours, reporting shortages, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining housekeeping standards. • Accurately fill kit carts by printing and following the pick list. • Complete all inventory transactions using the DSI scanner. • Put away and restock bins within 24 hours of receipt. • Identify material shortages or low stock and report to supervisor. • Cycle count assigned locations and report discrepancies. • Complete 5S and housekeeping assignments. • Participate in Level I OJT and cross‑training on Level II Material Handler.

What You Bring

Critical skills include basic reading, writing, and math, proficiency with computer applications and the DSI scanning system, effective communication for defect prevention, the ability to train others, knowledge of material handling and warehousing practices, safety and security awareness, and mechanical familiarity with banding equipment. Minimum qualifications are a High School Diploma or GED and 0‑1 years of PIV operation, warehouse, or shipping and receiving experience. Preferred experience includes at least one year in a pick/pack warehouse and familiarity with warehouse management systems such as DSI or JDE. • Basic reading, writing, and math abilities. • Knowledge of computer applications and product documentation for compliance. • Effective communication to drive defect prevention and learning. • Ability to train others on product configurations and promote cross‑training. • Understanding of material handling practices, storage, and scanning systems. • Working knowledge of DSI scripts for supermarket operations. • Warehousing skills: cycle counting, inventory transfers, product storage, and kitting per pick list. • Basic understanding of process operations. • Knowledge of public safety and security policies and procedures. • Mechanical knowledge of banding machines, straps, and their maintenance. • Ability to control equipment or system operations. • High School Diploma or GED minimum. • 0‑1 years of PIV operation, warehouse, or shipping and receiving experience. • Preferred: 1 year of pick/pack warehouse experience and familiarity with DSI/JDE WMS.
