About the Role

In this role, the Practice Builder leads business development, manages key client relationships, and oversees all project tasks while mentoring junior staff. The position offers significant autonomy to direct and grow the business. • Lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients. • Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, and maintaining positive client relationships. • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, mentor staff, assist recruitment, and serve as a positive role model. • Meet or exceed client expectations. • Identify and track leads. • Create presentations, write proposals, and define scopes of work. • Establish budgets, ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervise execution. • Receive accounting, administrative, marketing, recruiting, IT, and production support.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and be a professional engineer with at least ten years of experience leading a residential land-development practice in the Dallas market. They should have extensive contacts with architects, developers, land-use attorneys, planners, owners, and local jurisdiction staff, as well as proven business development, proposal writing, budgeting, and staff mentorship abilities.
