Custodian

About the Role

The Custodian (Cleaner) works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor at C&W Services, performing a variety of custodial duties in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Daily responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and washing interior floors; operating light and heavy commercial buffers and shampoo machines; vacuuming rugs and spot‑cleaning them as directed; dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces; cleaning interior glass, windowsills, and specified windows; washing walls, doors, and bathroom fixtures; restocking paper supplies; monitoring defects such as clogged urinals or lights and reporting them; collecting and disposing of trash; replacing liners; and shoveling snow from entrances and walkways. Periodic work involves high‑dusting, leather and wood polishing, and wall washing. • Sweep, mop, and wash interior floors using manual and commercial buffers. • Vacuum and spot‑clean rugs; shampoo when directed. • Dust furniture, displays, fixtures, and perform periodic high‑dusting. • Maintain bathrooms: wipe glass, empty waste, restock supplies, clean tiles, scrub floors. • Monitor and report issues such as clogged fixtures or lighting problems. • Collect and dispose of building trash; replace liners as specified. • Remove snow from entrances and walkways as needed. • Perform periodic tasks like leather/wood polishing and wall washing. • Follow directions, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team. • Operate cleaning equipment, including backpack‑style vacuums.

What You Bring

The role requires no previous cleaning experience but demands the ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team. Candidates must be able to use cleaning tools and equipment, including backpack‑style vacuums, and possess attention to detail, pride in service, strong organization, high energy, and endurance. • Clean interior glass, windowsills, and interior/exterior entrance doors. • Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, high energy, and endurance.

Benefits
