About the Role
Key duties include manually picking up windblown paper along the landfill fence and loading it into large trash bags, operating a tractor‑mounted mobile vacuum to clean the perimeter, and, during heavy summer traffic, stationed at the entrance to direct trucks using verbal and hand signals. The role also requires lifting construction materials, using hand tools such as shovels, picks, axes, and chainsaws, and separating metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Contain loose refuse and prevent scattering at the landfill. • Manually collect windblown paper and load it into large trash bags. • Operate a tractor‑mounted mobile vacuum to clean the landfill perimeter. • Direct landfill traffic during peak summer periods using verbal and hand signals. • Lift and transport construction materials; use hand tools such as shovels, picks, axes, and chainsaws. • Separate metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Meet physical demands of lifting, walking, and operating equipment in outdoor conditions.
