About the Role

In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the mechanical and electrical systems of surface mining equipment, as well as commission new machines and provide training at customer sites, ensuring all work meets the original manufacturing specifications. You are expected to adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, conduct risk assessments before tasks, maintain tools and work areas, and report unsafe conditions while wearing the required personal protective equipment. • Inspect surface mining equipment to identify faults and malfunctions. • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components to restore original specifications. • Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operational performance. • Commission new equipment and deliver on‑site training to customers. • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists. • Stay current with industry, customer, and product developments and best practices. • Follow safety policies, conduct "Take Five" risk assessments, and report unsafe conditions. • Maintain hand tools and ensure a clean, orderly work area.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical or electrical diploma (or equivalent experience), has at least five years of experience with surface mining equipment, can read hydraulic and electrical schematics, and possesses strong communication skills in both French and English. A valid driver’s licence, willingness to travel across Canada, and flexibility to work varied shifts are also required. • Hold a mechanical/electrical diploma or equivalent heavy‑duty equipment experience. • Possess at least five years of related experience with surface mining equipment. • Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics to diagnose issues. • Communicate effectively in both French and English (preferred). • Maintain a valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Canada. • Adapt to varied shift schedules as required.
