About the Role
The engineer will work on an integrated team responsible for electrical design from concept through construction, collaborating with clients, project managers, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. Responsibilities include feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, RFI responses, shop‑drawing reviews, site investigations, and overall construction administration. Travel to job sites or other HDR offices may be required and will be coordinated in advance to balance project work and personal life. • Mentor and manage junior engineers, fostering collaboration and career growth. • Coordinate Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM specialists within multidisciplinary project teams. • Lead electrical design for data‑center and mission‑critical projects, balancing reliability, cost, sustainability, and future flexibility. • Conduct design meetings, drive electrical discussions, and collaborate with architects and other disciplines. • Provide construction‑phase support, including field observations, submittal and shop‑drawing reviews, and RFI response. • Review designs for code compliance with governing agencies. • Travel to job sites or HDR offices as needed, with advance coordination.

What You Bring
• Preferred qualifications: strong Revit MEP knowledge, Master’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, prior data‑center/mission‑critical experience. • Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (electrical emphasis), experience in building electrical design, Professional Engineer license, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI, EasyPower, and Microsoft Office, and commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
