About the Role
Our Transmission team works across Aotearoa delivering specialist services that keep New Zealand’s high‑voltage network functioning safely and reliably. This role is based in Taupō, supporting the construction, maintenance and fault response of transmission assets including substations, switchgear, transformers and protection systems. As an Electrical Fitter, you’ll carry out technical installation, repairs, analysis and maintenance activities—ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time and aligned with Zero Harm expectations. You’ll also support job planning, assess resource requirements, and engage with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes for our clients. • Perform technical installation, repairs, analysis, and maintenance on transmission assets. • Ensure work meets high standards, stays on schedule, and aligns with Zero Harm safety expectations. • Support job planning, assess resource needs, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. • Diagnose, rectify, and report electrical faults accurately.

What You Bring
This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, problem‑solving, and contributing to the performance of New Zealand’s essential energy infrastructure. You’re an electrically qualified professional with experience working on high‑voltage or transmission‑related assets. You take pride in safe, high‑quality workmanship and enjoy working both independently and within a skilled field team. Experience in transmission networks or large electrical infrastructure environments will be highly advantageous. • Hold a trade qualification in Electrical Fitting and the required electrical registration/licence. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical test equipment, systems, and procedures. • Experience with substations, transformers, switchgear, or protection systems. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Capable of manual, hands‑on field work and possess a current driver’s licence. • Experience in transmission networks or large electrical infrastructure is advantageous.
