About the Role
Our Civil Construction team in New Plymouth is entering peak season and is looking for a Class 5 Truck & Trailer Driver to join the work whānau. The role involves securing loads of plant and machinery in transit, operating tipper trucks and trailers, and supporting general team activities when transport work pauses. Downer plans, creates, and sustains infrastructure as a leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand. The Transport & Infrastructure business manages road networks and delivers civil and commercial construction through a trans‑Tasman team that shares expertise to meet community and customer challenges.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have experience operating machinery in civil construction and the ability to maintain equipment safely. They must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • Class 5 full New Zealand driver’s licence • Tipper truck and gravelling experience (ideal) • Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements (beneficial, can be provided) • Experience transporting, loading and unloading machinery • Ability to work hands‑on, unsupervised and as part of a team
