Job Highlights
About the Role
All drivers must follow Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, and conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections documented on DVIR forms. They are expected to report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions, attend required training, and collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and address customer requests. • Operate trucks with lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables to disposal facilities. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Adhere to all safety, OSHA, DOT and company regulations while driving. • Report hazards, incidents, and customer requests promptly to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Load, unload, and dump containers, ensuring sites are left clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, and sitting.

What You Bring
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste and recyclable containers to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities. Residential drivers collect household waste, while roll‑off drivers handle large open‑top and compactor containers, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers in tight or congested environments. Candidates must hold a Class A or B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, have at least one year of commercial or equivalent military driving experience, be at least 18 years old, and be legally eligible to work in the country of employment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing activities, reflecting the physically demanding nature of waste collection and transport.
