About the Role
• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards • Partner with staff nationwide on large national clients and projects • Develop technical drawings and plans, including complex drawings and quality checks • Perform multifaceted calculations as needed • Work with minimal supervision and suggest design changes based on engineering principles • Maintain drawing database and supervise/train CAD staff • Coordinate work activities to keep schedules and ensure quality control • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

The role involves creating and quality‑checking complex technical drawings, managing drafting standards, and collaborating with staff across the nation on large projects. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision, mentor CAD staff, and become familiar with Kimley‑Horn’s procedures and standards. • Require 10+ years of relevant experience • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred • Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products • Strong work ethic, communication skills, desire to learn, and ability to work independently and in a team • Willingness to mentor and teach others; detail‑oriented, professional, self‑starter
