About the Role
The role involves creating project estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting trade partners, preparing RFP documents, determining pricing options, supporting the lead estimator with software input, maintaining archives, participating in review meetings and site investigations, gathering permitting information, managing addendum logs, and providing direction and training to new estimators and interns. • Create and finalize project estimates, including full estimates for smaller projects. • Perform quantity takeoffs and material summations. • Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and compare vendor proposals. • Prepare and coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and schedules. • Determine pricing options and select appropriate project pricing. • Input data into estimating software and support lead estimator. • Maintain archive files and gather historical cost data. • Participate in plan reviews, estimate meetings, and site investigations. • Gather permitting and regulatory information from government and private entities. • Manage addendum logs and client documentation. • Mentor new estimators, engineers, and interns, providing training as needed.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an Estimator II who will gather, calculate, and compile data to produce project estimates, and for smaller projects will also prepare full estimates. Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in estimating, engineering, construction management, or a related field, have at least three years of construction operations experience, possess a valid driver’s license, be detail‑oriented with strong mathematical skills, and be proficient with estimating software such as ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On‑Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and Google Earth. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, and the company does not accept unsolicited agency communications. • Minimum three years of construction operations experience with materials management exposure. • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. • Proficiency with ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On‑Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and Google Earth. • Strong mathematical, detail‑oriented, and customer‑service skills. • Valid driver’s license and ability to manage multiple project tasks.
