About the Role
In this role you will leverage the firm’s technology‑centric edge to collaborate with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel to test, operationalize, optimize, and validate mechanical systems in 24×7 mission‑critical plants, healthcare, power generation, or similar environments. You will develop and coordinate commissioning plans and functional testing of multi‑stack and multi‑redundant system configurations, review design criteria, specifications, drawings, and submittals, lead multi‑trade commissioning efforts, produce technical operating procedures, and oversee one to two engineers on projects. • Develop and coordinate Commissioning Plans following ASHRAE Guideline O format. • Conduct functional testing of multi‑stack equipment and multi‑redundant system configurations. • Review and provide peer‑level feedback on design criteria, specifications, drawings, and equipment submittals. • Lead commissioning efforts across multiple trades with client management involvement. • Create technical operating procedures and instruction manuals. • Supervise and mentor 1–2 engineers on project tasks.

We are currently seeking a performance‑driven, motivated Mechanical Commissioning Agent III‑IV based out of Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience), has at least six years of hands‑on field experience testing large mechanical systems, 3.5–8 years in the MEP field, and possesses knowledge of system selection, LEED principles, applicable codes, and ASHRAE/BCxA/PECI procedures; a PE license or commissioning certification is preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience with large‑distribution system commissioning. • Minimum six years of field experience in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of large mechanical systems. • 3.5–8 years of relevant MEP experience. • Basic understanding of proper system selection and practical application of LEED principles. • Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and ASHRAE, BCxA, or PECI Cx and RETRO‑Cx procedures (preferred). • PE license or recognized commissioning certification preferred.
