About the Role

As a Client Service Manager for Water Clients in San Francisco, Oakland and Concord, CA, you will be involved in client relationship development, strategic account management, business development, advocacy and representation, and key performance indicators. You will work with an energetic and high‑performing team. • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients, acting as their voice within GHD. • Lead a Client Engagement Team and create multi‑year growth plans for municipal accounts. • Monitor public‑spending trends, regulatory changes, and infrastructure investments to identify opportunities. • Identify and pursue new business in water, transportation, and urban development sectors, coordinating proposals with technical teams. • Represent GHD at municipal meetings, conferences, and industry events, promoting the brand and facilitating stakeholder communication. • Oversee CRM system implementation and continuous improvement for client relationship management. • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on technology, policy, regulation, or operational management, maintaining external accreditations and staying current with industry best practices. • Manage a portfolio of complex customer relationships, developing and executing relationship‑management plans to meet client needs. • Clarify client requirements by consulting across organizational levels and aligning internal specialists to deliver solutions. • Develop personal networks with senior managers, gather market intelligence, and enhance GHD’s reputation.

What You Bring

To help lead this next chapter, we are seeking Client Service Managers (CSM)-Water who are energized by growth, trusted by clients, and motivated to shape the future of public infrastructure. Client Service Managers are viewed as a critical role within GHD, sitting at the intersection of our clients, our communities, and our technical teams – bringing external voices, priorities, and opportunities into the organization. Education requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a similar field. A Professional Engineer license is preferred and a minimum of ten years of experience in client service management, preferably with municipal or public‑sector clients, is required. The role demands excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, the ability to lead cross‑functional teams, proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office, and a strategic, client‑centric mindset. GHD is an equal‑opportunity employer and offers a salary range of $230,000‑$280,000 based on experience and location.
