About the Role

• Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support the project timeline. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers and resolve discrepancies. • Develop and manage overall project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead schedules. • Create a site logistics plan and lead the use of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Collaborate with partner superintendents and conduct on‑site orientations, pre‑construction sessions, and site meetings. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; handle hiring, transfers, and dismissals as needed. • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project personnel. • Ensure accurate task coding of work hours, track progress, and monitor craft productivity. • Oversee craft team training and conduct career development discussions. • Foster relationships with diverse team members and provide effective coaching, feedback, and performance management. • Manage safety, quality, risk, and compliance, and identify opportunities to improve processes.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I who will coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a specific discipline area while building strong customer relationships through excellent service. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Mortenson does not accept agency solicitations without a valid agreement and reserves the right to hire without legal or financial obligations. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience. • Minimum of 5 years in construction management or a related role. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100 % of the time. • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects with strong organizational detail. • Basic knowledge of construction law and business practices; intermediate Microsoft Office skills. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service and active listening abilities. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies and embrace inclusive behaviors and EE O/AA guidelines.

Benefits

The base pay for this role ranges from $111,400 to $167,100, with higher rates in select locations.
