About the Role

The technician installs, services, and repairs refuse compactors at customer locations, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Key duties include performing scheduled maintenance such as greasing, changing hydraulic oil and filters, inspecting for stress cracks, and testing pressure gauges. The role also requires reading electrical and hydraulic schematics, replacing circuits, solenoids, pressure switches, and repairing wiring as needed. Technicians must fabricate metal components on site, use hammer drills to anchor units, install guard rails, and construct hoppers, platforms, steps, and handrails. They diagnose and repair hydraulic hoses, dismantle and reassemble parts with tools like cutting torches and sledgehammers, and safely operate the service truck to job sites. • Perform routine service on refuse compactors, including greasing and filter changes • Inspect units for stress cracks and safety hazards • Replace circuits, solenoids, pressure switches, and repair wiring as needed • Fabricate on‑site metal components and install guard rails using hammer drills • Diagnose and repair hydraulic hoses and systems • Disassemble, reshape, and reassemble parts with cutting torches and hand tools • Operate service truck safely to and from job sites • Train site personnel on proper operational procedures and obtain safety sign‑offs • Work in indoor garages, shops, gas plants, and outdoors in varying weather conditions
