About the Role
Under general supervision, the incumbent administers and implements Environmental Protection (EP) stormwater programs across assigned market areas. The role serves as the primary EP contact, providing technical guidance to field operations personnel and management on stormwater issues and regulatory requirements, and may lead EP team professionals in certain groups or market areas. Key duties include communicating corporate EP policies, handling incident notifications, permit applications, and expansion projects, and identifying local, state, and federal stormwater regulatory impacts. The position coordinates compliance enforcement, prepares documentation for permits and regulatory approvals, and oversees field testing, investigations, and assessments related to stormwater, petroleum products, leachate, landfill gas, and wastewaters. The incumbent provides budget guidance for EP projects, directs outside consultants and staff on program implementation, administers customer waste approvals, delivers training, and maintains EP data tracking systems such as Cycle and Dakota Tracer. Supervisory responsibilities may involve managing EP Managers I and EP Specialists, including performance evaluations, promotions, training, work assignments, hiring, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling, with final decisions made by the Group EP Director. • Administer and implement Environmental Protection stormwater programs in assigned market areas. • Serve as primary EP contact, providing technical guidance on stormwater and regulatory issues. • Monitor and investigate stormwater compliance, delivering training and recommendations to sites and management. • Communicate corporate EP policies and handle incident notifications, permit applications, and expansion projects. • Identify and assess local, state, and federal stormwater regulatory impacts on operations. • Secure stormwater permits and related regulatory approvals, preparing necessary documentation. • Oversee field stormwater testing, investigations, and assessments, including management of petroleum, leachate, landfill gas, and wastewaters. • Provide budget guidance for EP projects and direct outside consultants and staff on program implementation. • Administer customer waste approvals and deliver EP training to facility and market staff. • Maintain EP data tracking systems (Cycle, Dakota Tracer) and generate company reports. • May supervise EP Managers I and EP Specialists, handling performance evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or a high school diploma/GED with four years of relevant experience) and at least seven years of environmental protection experience. Candidates must understand the regulatory environment, be proficient with MS Office, have familiarity with statistical methods and research skills, and possess a working knowledge of the company’s operations.
