About the Role

The role involves managing and leading structural engineering projects, creating complete drawing sets and specifications independently, and mentoring junior engineers. The manager will conduct design calculations, oversee production, prepare submittal packages, and maintain quality control throughout each project. Additional duties include supporting construction phases, representing the firm in client and contractor meetings, and networking to generate new opportunities. • Assist with management and leadership of projects • Develop full sets of structural drawings and specifications independently • Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) • Perform structural design calculations, plan production, and prepare submittal packages while maintaining quality control • Lead and support construction phase efforts on building projects • Participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members • Identify project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients

What You Bring

Kimley-Horn is hiring a Structural Project Manager for its Frisco, Texas office. Candidates must have at least five years of experience and will work on-site rather than remotely. Applicants need five or more years of engineering design experience and a Professional Engineering license. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and structural analysis tools such as STAAD, RAM, and others is required. The ideal candidate demonstrates urgency, strong communication and leadership abilities, multitasking skills, and a positive, collaborative attitude. • 5+ years of relevant engineering design experience • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp for drawing production • Experience with structural analysis software (STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, etc.) • Strong urgency and self-discipline to meet client deadlines • Detail-oriented team player fostering a positive work environment • Ability to multitask across multiple projects concurrently • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with a focus on personal and staff development • Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
