About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer – Afternoon Shift role is a full‑time onsite position in Indianapolis, IN. Engineers in this role develop advanced manufacturing processes for aerospace, marine, and nuclear technologies, collaborating with designers, customers, suppliers, and operations specialists worldwide. This position ensures product integrity by aligning manufacturing methods with design intent, maintaining quality, cost, delivery, and lead‑time standards, and managing process changes through FAIRs, MVAs, and technical verification. The engineer also drives waste reduction, addresses customer complaints, leads cross‑functional problem‑solving teams, and maintains technical package documentation. • Align manufacturing methods with design intent to ensure component product integrity. • Ensure processes meet quality, cost, delivery, and lead‑time requirements. • Manage process changes through FAIRs, MVAs, and technical verification. • Reduce waste by improving setup, scrap, machine utilization, and methods. • Investigate customer complaints and quality non‑compliances; implement corrective actions. • Lead cross‑functional problem‑solving teams. • Create and maintain technical package elements defining manufacturing processes.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates hold an associate’s degree with four years of experience, a bachelor’s with two years, a master’s, a JD/PhD, or nine years of manufacturing engineering experience, and must be U.S. citizens. They should possess knowledge of aerospace component manufacturing, machining principles, project management, PFMEA, Six Sigma, DFM/DFA, DZD initiatives, FAIR/MVA processes, and CAD/CAM tools. • Associate’s degree + 4 years experience, or Bachelor’s + 2 years, or Master’s, or JD/PhD, or 9 + years experience in manufacturing engineering. • U.S. citizenship required. • Knowledge of aerospace component manufacturing and machining (turning, grinding, drilling, milling, shaping). • Project management experience in manufacturing with strong written and oral communication skills. • Expertise in PFMEA, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, DFM/DFA, and process audits. • Understanding of DZD (Drive to Zero Defects) and ability to lead cross‑functional teams. • Familiarity with FAIR and MVA processes. • CAD/CAM proficiency.
