About the Role
As a Gensler Technical Designer in Washington, D.C., you will blend creativity, technical expertise, and business acumen to create functionally beautiful spaces for our clients. Your contributions will make our designs more engaging and impactful. You will collaborate on interior architecture and design projects, handling programming, conceptual and schematic design, design development, space planning, and budget and schedule management. Coordination with interior designers, project architects, and managers will ensure milestones are met, while you will oversee finish plans, specifications, and material selections for construction. Additionally, you will support design execution, work with external consultants and vendors, and maintain productive client relationships. • Collaborate on interior architecture and design projects from programming through construction documentation. • Coordinate with interior designers, project architects, and managers to meet project milestones and budgets. • Develop finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction. • Provide design support and documentation throughout design execution. • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to achieve project objectives. • Maintain and nurture ongoing client relationships and manage client expectations.

What You Bring
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture and 0–3 years of professional experience. Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3‑D modeling software, and knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are essential. You should understand the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems, color, materials, and sustainable building practices, and possess strong conceptual, graphic, and communication skills. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture. • Possess 0–3 years of professional experience and proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and 3‑D modeling software. • Know Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and have a solid understanding of FF&E, furniture systems, color, and materials. • Demonstrate commitment to sustainable design practices and familiarity with LEED, WELL, Fitwel, or Net Zero standards.

This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office and is not remote. The estimated base salary ranges from $68,000 to $72,000, plus bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
