About the Role

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, engineers design critical infrastructure that powers the digital age—from high‑performance data centers enabling AI to dynamic commercial spaces that support human interaction. The multidisciplinary team blends mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil expertise to deliver energy‑efficient, resilient, and sustainable built environments. • Connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring programs. • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures under supervision. • Perform design calculations for steel, concrete, mass‑timber, and masonry structures. • Produce sketches and drawings to convey design concepts. • Review and interpret construction documents to support field work. • Participate in site investigations and field reviews. • Prepare on‑site observation reports.

What You Bring

• Completed at least two years toward an engineering degree with a 3.0+ GPA. • Independent learner capable of quickly acquiring new skills. • Strong team orientation and collaborative mindset. • Keen observational skills with high attention to detail. • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu. • Experience using structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM). • Knowledge of engineering principles for steel, concrete, and masonry systems. • Prior experience working in an engineering firm. • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program. • Excellent attention to detail. • Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities. • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
