About the Role
The Design Coordinator Project Manager leads large‑scale Design‑Build projects, ensuring on‑schedule and on‑budget delivery in line with contractual obligations. This role oversees and coordinates design scopes—including structural, architectural, MEP, communications, lighting, and track work—with internal and external stakeholders, the MTA, and subcontractors to produce constructible designs. The manager defines program goals, integrates engineering, procurement, and construction activities, and fosters team communication to remove roadblocks. • Drive design initiatives with multiple stakeholders, competing deadlines, and many moving parts • Prioritize, assess tradeoffs, propose solutions and communicate effectively • Define and manage initiatives to improve design team efficiency and impact • Facilitate meetings, establish clear next steps and owners, and resolve blockers • Proactively assess risk, raise flags and resolve issues before they become problems • Support management with effective communication, problem solving, and information distribution • Define and measure program impact qualitatively and quantitatively • Serve as technical authority for design compliance, establishing and auditing delivery standards across engineering and architectural disciplines • Monitor and audit third‑party design and engineering activities for contract compliance • Provide continuous design oversight throughout the project lifecycle • Allocate design review team members to project schedules and milestones • Act as technical authority and governance for design processes • Collaborate with managers and engineers to develop schedules and plans, ensuring project goals are met or exceeded

What You Bring
Work is performed both outdoors at construction sites and indoors, often requiring off‑hours and weekend availability to align with construction schedules. The position involves frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, and crouching, as well as exposure to extreme weather conditions and loud noise. • 4‑year degree in Civil Engineering or related field • Minimum 15 years of related work experience • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) • Lead Design Manager experience on Design‑Build projects • Additional design experience on Design‑Build projects • Proven track record leading multidisciplinary design teams on high‑profile projects
