About the Role

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle. • Produce and present final cost plans and estimates. • Review cost estimates with the design team and general contractor. • Reconcile changes and verify contractor data accuracy. • Gather status information from contractors and project managers to update cost estimates. • Prepare written comments and executive summaries on contractor submissions. • Coordinate cost information from NPA, subcontractors and quantity surveyors. • Influence engineering priorities based on cost impact. • Resolve scheduling issues proactively with minimal supervision. • Manage cost checks and conduct valuations on large projects. • Handle post‑contract cost variances and change‑control processes. • Track cost impact, contingency and commitment logs. • Prepare funding data presentations and lead value‑engineering sessions. • Develop cost plans and updates at design milestones. • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering. • Review contractor pricing and negotiate fair contract prices. • Perform quantity surveying, cost control and change management throughout the project lifecycle. • Ensure effective cost auditing, valuation and validation processes. • Produce monthly cost reports for client presentation. • Negotiate and finalise final accounts promptly. • Compile built‑cost estimate records for benchmarking. • Identify, coach and mentor talent. • Lead financial management using internal software for margin tracking and forecasts. • Implement internal business management systems and delivery methodologies. • Model a one‑business culture balancing outcomes for people, clients, stakeholders and society. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring

The Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor will act as the primary client interface, providing a value‑added cost management service. Success requires strong communication, self‑motivation and the ability to work both independently and within a team, while embodying Turner & Townsend's purpose, values and vision. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields and 5‑7 years of cost management experience on medium to large, complex projects. RICS accreditation is preferred, as is consultancy background and solid knowledge of procurement routes, value management and engineering.
