About the Role
The Lead Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement supports the industrial valve manufacturing site in Houston, Texas, by managing master planning, purchasing activities, and material processes to ensure seamless production execution. The role drives supplier performance, material alignment, and inventory optimization while maintaining compliance with nuclear, HSE, and organizational standards, ultimately enabling on‑time delivery and operational excellence. • Manage master planning, material processes, and systems for the Houston industrial valve site. • Prepare and update production schedules based on purchasing and operational needs. • Drive process improvements to increase material availability visibility across product lines. • Align material supply with production plans and KPIs through coordination with teams and suppliers. • Optimize inventory levels and inbound shipment processes from external suppliers. • Exchange data on product, process, and procedural improvements with cross‑functional teams. • Implement standardized manufacturing processes and updated procedures. • Obtain nuclear purchasing certifications and ensure compliance with nuclear guidelines. • Improve on‑time manufacturing delivery by effective material alignment. • Track and maintain visibility of short‑cycle purchase orders. • Place, review, and manage purchasing activities for internal and external suppliers. • Manage supplier performance, metrics, and accountability. • Collaborate with the quality team to resolve nonconformance and return‑to‑vendor issues. • Participate in daily warehouse and virtual meetings with global cross‑functional teams. • Complete all HSE and compliance training per Baker Hughes policies. • Oversee external supplier network from purchase order placement to invoice reconciliation.

What You Bring
• Minimum three years of experience in materials planning, sourcing, or procurement. • Bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma/GED with four years of manufacturing experience). • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Ability to influence others, lead small teams, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. • Proven analytical, problem‑identification, and solution‑development abilities.
