About the Role

The successful candidate will expand the firm’s presence in the local market by overseeing complex highway, municipal, and roadway design projects while driving marketing and client engagement. Responsibilities include managing profitable project delivery, providing vision and business strategy, setting goals, and maintaining positive client relationships. Leadership duties involve open communication with partners and teams, mentoring staff, transitioning work to qualified personnel, and growing the roadway practice as a positive leader. The role also includes business planning, practice building, and contributing to the firm’s growth. • Expand Kimley‑Horn’s roadway practice and market presence in Woodstock and surrounding areas. • Lead complex highway, municipal, and roadway design projects from concept through delivery. • Manage project profitability while addressing design issues and client requirements. • Develop and execute marketing strategies and client engagement initiatives. • Provide vision, business planning, and strategic direction for the practice. • Set performance goals and monitor progress toward them. • Build and maintain strong client relationships and open communication with partners and team members. • Grow and mentor staff, transitioning work to qualified personnel. • Autonomously lead, direct, and grow business opportunities with potential for ownership.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least 12 years of roadway project management experience, a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and a proven track record of winning and delivering work in the local area. Required expertise includes full lifecycle roadway project knowledge, relationships with local agencies or municipalities, civil design of roads, freeways, and interchanges, and the ability to manage projects profitably while leading teams and preparing proposals, scopes, and budgets. • Possess 12+ years of roadway project management experience. • Hold a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. • Demonstrated success in winning and delivering projects in local markets. • Knowledge of the full lifecycle of roadway projects and civil design of roads, freeways, and interchanges. • Established relationships with local agencies and municipalities. • Ability to manage projects profitably while leading teams and collaborating with stakeholders. • Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets.
