Product Care Engineering Manager
Manage product lifecycle and engineering for high‑voltage switchgear.

About the Role
Key duties include applying problem‑solving tools (RCA, 8D, FMEA, Pareto) to resolve technical and manufacturing issues, leading strategic product transfer projects, and designing manufacturing processes, jigs, fixtures, and equipment. The manager will also supervise team members, set goals, prepare BOMs in SAP from PLM data, support product localization, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. • Collaborate with R&D and global product support to manage product life cycle for interrupters, drives, and circuit breaker poles. • Apply root‑cause analysis, 8D, FMEA, and Pareto techniques to resolve technical and manufacturing issues. • Lead strategic product transfer projects and implement new products into manufacturing. • Set team goals, monitor performance, and ensure achievement of operational results. • Design product‑specific manufacturing processes, jigs, fixtures, and equipment. • Supervise and mentor engineering team members, providing training and technical knowledge. • Prepare BOMs and material master data in SAP from PLM tools. • Support product localization by coordinating with supply chain and product management. • Ensure engineering solutions meet customer requirements while optimizing cost and efficiency. • Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and drive lean manufacturing improvements. • Maintain product documentation, manage engineering change notifications, and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC/DIN/ASME standards. • Promote Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity across the team and stakeholders.

What You Bring
The role demands a motivated professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and can collaborate across diverse teams and cultures. The manager will oversee the complete product life cycle for existing high‑voltage switchgear products such as interrupters, drives, and circuit breaker poles. Candidates should hold a B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ME/MTech preferred) with 12‑15 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of high‑voltage switchgear and its components, and hands‑on expertise with 3D modeling and PLM tools such as Creo, Windchill, and SAP. Proven manufacturing process knowledge, familiarity with material standards, product change management, and excellent English communication are also required.
