About the Role
The role involves providing local technical assistance for collecting, identifying, and compiling environmental and geological data from various media such as soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air/vapor, and generating accurate documentation that meets or exceeds industry standards. Under general supervision, the geologist will conduct routine field work including soil, soil‑gas, groundwater, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other assignments, maintain quality‑control standards, produce precise electronic and field‑notebook documentation, adhere to safety and site‑specific procedures, employ latest technologies for organic and inorganic analysis, complete required training, and act ethically in line with WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Conduct routine field sampling (soil, groundwater, stormwater, soil‑gas) and boring logs. • Maintain quality‑control standards for accurate measurements. • Generate precise electronic and field‑notebook documentation. • Follow safety guidelines and site‑specific procedures for sample handling and data recording. • Apply advanced technologies to analyze organic and inorganic compounds. • Complete required training and uphold ethical decision‑making per WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Maintain a solid safety record and comply with health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline, possesses strong research and analytical skills, understands hazardous substance reduction, is familiar with environmental laws and compliance, communicates effectively to both scientific and non‑scientific audiences, demonstrates self‑leadership, attention to detail, multitasking and prioritization, works independently and as part of a team, is proficient with technical writing and office software, maintains a solid safety record, and can accommodate project‑specific schedules and occasional travel. Preferred qualifications include active participation in local professional practice organizations.
