About the Role

The role involves observing and documenting field activities related to construction, sampling, testing, and inspecting a variety of materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. You will perform calculations and data reduction of test results, use field screening equipment, and document readings. Additionally, the position requires reading maps, following directions, interpreting engineering and construction plans, and communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers, ultimately building confidence to serve as the sole ECS representative on site. • Observe and document construction field activities • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel • Perform calculations and reduce data from test results • Use field screening equipment and record readings • Read maps and interpret engineering and construction plans • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites • Provide reliable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed)

What You Bring

Candidates should be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field and have a strong interest in how building materials are utilized during construction. The job requires the ability to carry 40–70 lb multiple times a day, with occasional lifts of up to 85 lb, and reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed).
