About the Role

The role involves managing, coordinating and delivering a range of small and large projects from design through construction, commissioning and handover. It includes overseeing sub‑contracts, fostering strong relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with client, community, environmental and legislative requirements, and reporting on program performance while participating in monthly Project Management Reviews. • Lead and deliver complex capital water pipeline projects for the Unity Water Program. • Manage the full project lifecycle including design, construction, commissioning, and handover. • Oversee sub‑contracts and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders. • Ensure projects meet client, community, environmental, and legislative standards. • Report on program performance and address issues to meet performance targets. • Participate actively in monthly Project Management Reviews.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex capital water infrastructure major water pipeline projects as part of the Unity Water Program across the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Region. We are looking for candidates with at least ten years of complex project management experience in the water and wastewater sector, preferably with large‑scale design‑build treatment plant and water transfer projects involving micro‑tunnelling and deep shafts. Previous team leadership experience and a proven track record of driving results are essential. Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit is a trans‑Tasman team delivering design, construction, operation and maintenance services across water, electricity, telecommunications, industrial and power generation sectors. Our expertise combines in‑house technical knowledge, specialist engineering, OEM partners and qualified tradespeople to connect communities to essential infrastructure. • Possess 10+ years of water/wastewater sector project management experience. • Experience with large‑scale design‑build treatment plants and water transfer projects using micro‑tunnelling and deep shafts. • Demonstrated team leadership and results‑driving capabilities.
