About the Role
The role involves full‑cycle involvement on complex projects in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life‑science, laboratory and industrial manufacturing sectors, from concept development through construction close‑out. Engineers in this position contribute to high‑profile national and international projects that encompass over 30 million square feet of medical facilities. • Review and approve electrical design plans ensuring compliance with all codes, ordinances, and regulations. • Apply advanced electrical engineering techniques to improve concept, preliminary, final design, procurement, construction, and operations phases. • Design and manage electrical systems from project inception through construction close‑out. • Lead cross‑functional engineering teams on multiple concurrent projects, overseeing budgets, hours, expenses, and technical documentation. • Create data visualizations, tables, charts, sketches, calculations, and cross‑sections to communicate complex analyses. • Develop technical reports and presentations that convey research findings, design concepts, and recommendations. • Manage client relationships and provide technical input for pursuit and business development efforts. • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

What You Bring
WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Electrical Engineer for its Jacksonville, FL office to expand the Property & Buildings practice. The ideal candidate is a licensed electrical engineer with extensive healthcare design experience in Florida and a blend of technical leadership and business development skills. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, a Florida Professional Engineering license, and at least ten years of post‑graduate experience, primarily in electrical design for healthcare facilities. Strong community networks, stakeholder management abilities, and a commitment to safety and ethical conduct are essential. • Hold a Professional Engineering license and possess extensive knowledge of electrical design in the healthcare industry. • Demonstrate a robust local professional network and experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management. • Preferred credentials include a Master’s degree in Engineering, LEED AP certification, and at least five years of project management experience. • Preferred safety qualifications: 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, Basic First Aid, and Adult CPR certification.
