About the Role

In this role you will provide geotechnical and environmental engineering assistance for due‑diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, improvement, and construction of infrastructure such as foundations, tunnels, dams, slopes, canals, pipelines, and mines. You will generate accurate documentation that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Under general supervision you will collect and analyze data from field sites, samples, surveys, GIS, blueprints, and other matrices, while maintaining quality‑control procedures and statistical analysis of rock and soil data. You will assist with investigations of subsurface conditions, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, erosion, lateral earth pressures, geological hazards, and slope stability to ensure compliance with applicable rules and permits. You will prepare visualizations—tables, charts, sketches, calculations, and illustrations—to present findings, and contribute to technical reports and presentations that address design and construction issues. Additional duties include supporting risk‑mitigation plans, developing site Health and Safety Plans, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies. • Collect, compile, and analyze field and geotechnical data (soil, rock, water, GIS, surveys) for project design. • Perform subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, slope stability, and hazard assessments. • Assist in designing foundations, tunnels, dams, pipelines, and other earth structures and prepare construction documentation. • Prepare tables, charts, calculations, sketches, and technical reports to communicate findings. • Contribute to risk‑mitigation plans and develop site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). • Ensure quality control, accurate measurements, and compliance with industry standards and permits. • Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, gINT, GeoSlope, HEC‑RAS, and related tools. • Maintain workplace safety and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and health, safety, and harassment policies.
