About the Role
As a Kitchen Hand you will assist chefs, cooks and the broader kitchen team with basic food preparation such as chopping, washing fruits and vegetables, and preparing salads, while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. Based at RAAF Darwin you will follow Ventia’s food preparation standards, guide utilities staff as required, operate commercial kitchen equipment, keep hygiene and safety records up to date, and support emergency meal setups when needed. You will also help foster a respectful and inclusive kitchen environment, adhering to safety rules and ensuring smooth operations.

What You Bring
The Ventia team at RAAF Darwin has multiple opportunities for experienced and reliable Kitchen Hands to join our team. • Uniform/PPE supplied • Experience working in large commercial kitchen environments • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and a current Food Hygiene Certificate • Flexible and adaptive in complex, multi‑stakeholder settings • Strong planning and organisational abilities • Eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance (must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo a satisfactory AFP check)
