About the Role

In this role you will manage a multidisciplinary team, mentor junior staff, coordinate budgets and schedules with department leaders, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering high‑quality results for transportation, municipal, and private development projects. • Mentor junior staff and supervise team performance. • Coordinate departmental revenue budget and project schedules with GDL, APM, and field supervisors. • Review weekly staff field efforts to ensure optimal utilization and meet billable hour targets. • Prepare proposals, expressions of interest, and work authorizations for projects. • Maintain knowledge of discipline practices, scientific principles, regulatory programs, and field standards. • Organize and file project documentation with administrative support. • Lead client and agency meetings, presenting project information. • Collaborate with billing managers to develop accurate project invoices. • Identify and pursue cross‑sell opportunities for additional services. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing budgets, schedules, and QC/QA plans. • Ensure compliance with permits, certifications, and contract documents. • Develop new project leads, nurture client relationships, and network for business development. • Work with marketing and other divisions to create marketing and advertising initiatives. • Participate in industry groups related to engineering, construction, excavation, and utilities. • Set performance goals, provide feedback, and handle disciplinary actions as needed. • Review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permits for project accuracy. • Identify training opportunities to improve staff effectiveness and technical knowledge.

What You Bring

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (preferred) with a solid SUE background, at least five years of assistant‑project‑manager or project‑manager experience, knowledge of NYSDOT and ASCE standards, relevant certifications, and proficiency with MS Office, BlueBeam, and Field Aware, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $115,500 to $165,900 per year, dependent on qualifications.
