Candidates must think critically about safety before performing any hazardous work. This position is based in Albuquerque, NM and requires U.S. citizenship. The role offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to the safe management of radioactive waste. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to obtain a CDL and HAZMAT endorsement if needed. Desired qualifications include two years of waste‑management experience, material‑handling equipment operation, HAZWOPER training, glovebox material sorting experience, and eligibility for a DOE Q security clearance. These credentials support effective performance of the technician’s responsibilities. • Utilize air‑purifying or supplied‑air respiratory protection • Hold high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license • Two years’ waste‑management or related experience (desired) • Experience operating materials‑handling equipment (desired) • Complete HAZWOPER 40‑hour training and current 8‑hour refresher (provided) • Ability to obtain CDL with HAZMAT endorsement (desired) • Experience sorting/segregating material in a glovebox (desired) • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q security clearance (desired)
