About the Role

Under general supervision, the employee applies appropriate welds to fabricate or repair compactors, containers, and carts. The role involves performing minor repairs and utilizing various welding processes such as arc, gas, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering on a range of materials. Responsibilities include repairing compactors, containers, and carts; conducting preventive maintenance inspections; diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems; performing safety checks; completing required paperwork using fleet maintenance software; assisting senior welders; handling service calls; and executing related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts. All work is performed within standard repair times, from prints, drawings, or verbal instructions, with proper layouts, tolerances, and standard shop tools while maintaining a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area. • Perform minor repairs and apply arc, gas, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering on various materials. • Repair compactors, containers, and carts, including flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose/repair electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors. • Perform safety checks and maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant work area. • Complete repair documentation using fleet maintenance software, tracking parts usage and repair times. • Assist senior welders on projects and handle service calls for compactor repairs. • Work from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions, adhering to standard repair times and dimension tolerances. • Utilize standard hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment for layout and set‑ups.
