About the Role
Reporting to a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician B repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, electrical, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire work such as replacements, rotations, and tread depth checks. Employees enjoy working on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles, receive training on new technologies, and support drivers on their routes. Key responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC systems, as well as line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. Technicians provide road service when needed to return equipment to safe and efficient operation and use electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions. Completing company‑provided training programs and handling additional job‑related duties as assigned are also required.

What You Bring
Candidates should have a basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and prior experience with maintenance on Classes 1‑5 light/medium duty and Classes 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantageous but not mandatory; a valid driver’s license is required. A minimum of one year of relevant technician experience or recent graduation from an accredited automotive program is expected, along with the ability to perform basic inspections on major truck systems with limited supervision.
