About the Role

The position offers hands‑on involvement with healthcare, water and master‑planning projects, mentorship opportunities through peer networks, and collaboration with architects and project managers to shape construction documents and specifications. It also includes engagement with owners or clients, code review responsibilities, and support across all phases of the architectural process. • Connect with peers and leaders through mentoring programs and the Young Professionals Network. • Evaluate, select and apply architectural techniques and procedures to construction documents under guidance of architects and project managers. • Perform architectural assignments with general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager. • Work directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures when needed. • Write specifications covering architectural matters and conduct code reviews. • Assist Project Architects, Architectural Project Coordinators or Technicians and take responsibility for work across all architectural phases.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in architecture, experience with healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities, and a demonstrated interest in low‑carbon, regenerative, sustainable, Fitwel/WELL, and AIA Design Excellence frameworks. Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, 3‑D Studio Max, Rhino and Grasshopper, as well as being a local candidate, are also valued. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field, at least five years of professional or internship experience preparing details, specifications and construction documents, and the ability to obtain licensure. Candidates must be skilled in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit, graphic presentation, and possess strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, along with a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Master’s degree in Architecture. • Experience with healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities. • Interest or experience in low‑carbon and healthy materials. • Interest or experience in regenerative design/LBC. • Interest or experience in sustainable design/LEED/SDGs. • Interest or experience in Fitwel/WELL standards. • Interest or experience in the AIA Framework for Design Excellence. • Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3‑D Studio Max. • Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper. • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field. • Minimum five years of professional or internship experience preparing details, specifications and construction documents. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project). • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills. • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with related tools and processes. • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
