About the Role

• Perform visual inspections and layout checks of materials. • Conduct rotational capacity tests on bolts before shop use. • Collaborate with external inspectors to resolve quality issues. • Monitor welder qualification tests and record welding parameters per approved WPS. • Read and interpret welding codes, specifications, and applicable codes. • Perform dimensional checks on lay‑downs and shop assemblies, using Total Station as needed. • Develop and implement improvements to the quality control process. • Conduct audits of the Quality Management System. • Ensure quality work flow through the shop and support welders and leadmen. • Remain available via radio to perform required checks. • Maintain logs and complete required inspection reports. • Coordinate inspection of QC hold points between production and DOT inspectors. • Promote and practice safe working habits. • Communicate inspection results and corrective actions to crews, supervisors, and the Quality Manager. • Interpret blueprints and verify geometric tolerances of fabricated parts using measurement tools. • Coordinate with the shipping department to confirm inspected loads are ready for shipment. • Plan work with supervisors to facilitate the flow of quality work through the shop. • Utilize Total Station to assist crews and finalize assemblies during off‑shifts. • Foster positive team morale and coach employees to improve workmanship quality.

What You Bring

Openings are available in Eau Claire, WI on the 2nd shift, Monday‑Thursday from 4:30 PM to 4:30 AM. Candidates must hold a current CWI or ASNT VT Level II, and relocation assistance may be provided. • Pay strong attention to detail and make decisions based on project codes and specifications. • Hold Certified Welding Inspector certification or ASNT VT Level II. • Possess ASNT MT Level II or ASNT UT Level II (preferred). • Hold NACE or SSPC BCI Level I certification (preferred). • Have a background in fabrication shop operations (preferred).
