What You Bring
Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) delivers critical, time‑bound services to HMPPS on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. The organisation seeks an Engineer with relevant steam boiler experience and qualifications to support its essential operations. • Two years' experience as a steam boiler operator or equivalent. • Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements. • Ability to work to BG01 – safe operation of boilers. • Experience with commercial or industrial steam, heating, and water systems. • Plumber qualification to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent. • BOAS accredited boiler operator certification or equivalent. • Good health and safety knowledge. • Excellent organisational, time‑management, and people skills.

The position is for a Mech/Steam/HTHW (Steam Engineer) at HMP The Mount in Hemel Hempstead, offering a salary between £43,177.30 and £46,775.42 per annum on a full‑time permanent contract. The role is within a Category C adult men’s prison and is part of the Ministry of Justice’s facilities maintenance team.
