About the Role

The Assistant General Counsel will join a lean, dynamic legal team responsible for providing corporate, transactional, and litigation support to Cushman & Wakefield’s Owner & Occupier Services business across North America. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel – Owner & Occupier Services, the role will proactively serve a varied client base while fostering the firm’s collaborative and practical culture. Key duties include analyzing, drafting, negotiating, and overseeing approval of commercial agreements and RFP responses for service lines such as Asset Services (Commercial and Multi‑Family), Facility Services, Portfolio Services Center, and Project and Development Services, with a particular focus on Asset Services Multi‑Family. The incumbent will act as Segment Leader for Asset Services Multi‑Family, partnering with service line leadership, serving as the legal liaison, and managing an attorney. The lawyer will consistently identify and mitigate complex contractual risks, advise internal clients on legal policies and transaction implications, and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Additional responsibilities involve supporting litigation in coordination with Chief Counsel Litigation and Risk, collaborating on risk‑management strategies, developing client training, researching real‑estate legal developments, and partnering with procurement and compliance teams. • Draft, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements and RFP responses for Owner & Occupier service lines. • Serve as Segment Leader for Asset Services Multi‑Family, collaborating with service line leadership and managing an attorney. • Analyze and mitigate complex contractual risks while improving contracting efficiency and consistency. • Advise internal clients on legal policies, transaction implications, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. • Support litigation matters in coordination with Chief Counsel Litigation and Risk. • Develop and deliver training for internal clients and the Americas Legal Group. • Research and monitor legal developments affecting the real‑estate industry and service providers. • Collaborate with procurement and compliance teams on risk‑management and regulatory matters.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a J.D. from a leading law school, bar admission in good standing, and ten to fifteen years of experience, preferably combining private practice and in‑house roles. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in Asset Services Multi‑Family, Asset Services Commercial, and IFM/real‑estate outsourcing, with strong analytical, organizational, writing, and communication skills. • Hold a J.D. from a leading law school, bar admission, and 10‑15 years of relevant experience (private practice and in‑house preferred). • Demonstrate expertise in Asset Services Multi‑Family, Asset Services Commercial, and IFM/real‑estate outsourcing. • Exhibit strong analytical, organizational, writing, and communication skills. • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and in fast‑paced environments.
