About the Role
• Provide functional leadership to a software engineering team delivering next‑generation CUAS and C2 solutions. • Collaborate with the SW Chief Architect on design, development, and delivery ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability. • Develop and enforce software engineering best practices, modular architectures, and interoperability standards. • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful execution. • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions. • Mentor junior engineers and resolve complex technical issues. • Contribute directly to software development efforts. • Drive innovation using machine learning and geospatial algorithms. • Oversee quality assurance, including automated testing pipelines. • Support testing, deployment, and integration with external devices and sensors. • Interface with customer subject matter experts and leadership to present capabilities and answer technical questions. • Coordinate with partners and equipment suppliers for integration and troubleshooting.

What You Bring
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our team. This role leads the development and delivery of next‑generation Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) and Command and Control (C2) solutions. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. Candidates should have 20+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role. Relevant certifications in software engineering, DevSecOps, or related fields are preferred, and an active Secret security clearance is required. These credentials support the Federal Solutions team’s mission to deliver critical resources to U.S. government customers. • Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, and C++. • Strong knowledge of modular architectures and DevSecOps practices. • Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences. • Strong time‑management and organizational abilities to handle multiple projects. • Experience in high‑visibility roles. • Experience with geospatial tools, algorithms, and sensor integration (EO/IR, RF, Radar, Acoustic). • Expertise in API development, including RESTful services and WebSockets. • Proficiency with automated build/test pipelines and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible. • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks for image processing, classification, and synthetic data generation. • Ability to work from or travel to the Northern Virginia area and Summit Point, WV test facility.
