About the Role

• Drive dump truck to transport and dump sand, gravel, crushed rock, or bituminous paving materials. • Perform pre‑trip inspections of tires, lights, fluids, and engine components. • Operate dump bed, third axle, tarp and strap controls safely and professionally. • Ensure all loads are tarped regardless of material. • Monitor vehicle gauges, rear‑view and spot mirrors, and company radio for dispatch changes. • Submit daily logs and truck reports complying with company, state, and federal regulations. • Report vehicle defects on the Driver Daily Report and avoid operating unsafe equipment. • Maintain a clean and obstruction‑free cab and dump bed. • Assist construction crews with general labor tasks such as shoveling when required. • Work evenings or nights as needed to support construction operations. • Participate in a 401(k) plan with company matching after one year of service.

What You Bring

The role requires extensive physical activity, including climbing onto the truck bed, operating pedals and controls, and performing manual labor such as shoveling and cleaning. Employees must regularly lift up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), work 10–12 hour shifts (with potential extensions to 15 hours), and may be exposed to weather, fumes, and moderate noise levels. Candidates must hold a valid CDL license and a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate, with at least two years of truck‑driving experience preferred, especially with third‑axle equipment. Additional expectations include basic math skills, problem‑solving ability, teamwork, a positive attitude, professional presentation, and composure in stressful traffic situations. • Follow defensive driving techniques and adhere to state and federal trucking laws. • Use proper gear shifting techniques, including lower gears at start and double‑clutching when changing gears. • Maintain a valid CDL and current Medical Examiner’s Certificate. • Possess at least two years of truck‑driving experience, preferably with third‑axle trucks. • Apply basic two‑digit math and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. • Demonstrate teamwork, a positive attitude, professional image, and composure under stress.
